Public Policy Advocacy
- 15,000 acres of land secured and distributed among 4,000 tribal and dalit families
- 3,000 families released from bondage and rehabilitated with the help of the government
- 500 legal cases filed for land entitlement, freedom from bondage, human rights abuse, women harassment and police atrocities. Many cases have resulted in positive judgments and created a sense of security among tribals
- Effective mobilisation of media for advocacy on local problems at state and national level
- Successful in policy influencing for securing the right to sell non-timber forest products by the tribals
Community Mobilisation and Local Institutional Development
- Facilitated and supported in the formation of Patha Kol Vikas Samiti, a registered civil society organisation to address imbalances affecting the lives of tribal in the Patha region
- Promoted Patha Kol Adhikar Manch, a community based tribal rights forum to act as pressure group by raise voice against violation of human rights, injustice, social discrimination and women's sexual harassment for effective lobbying and policy advocacy
Education and Awareness Generation
- 18,500 tribal children have benefited through formal/non-formal education interventions and 50 of this target group have already completed their graduation and post graduation
- Pioneer in influencing the education curriculum for adult tribal learners in this most backward region
Natural Resource Management
- Successfully oriented the tribal community agriculture as livelihood source by constructing ponds, check dams and earthen dams to irrigate about 1,000 hectares of land
- Similarly about 3,000 hectares of land not suitable for cultivation taken up under the watershed development initiative
- With the increase in productivity by 3-4 times, agriculture now became the livelihood source among tribal resulting in marked decrease in migration
- Over 100 drinking water wells constructed and chohras (natural springs) developed in and around hamlets inhabited by tribals to make potable water available in the rocky and neglected area
Women Empowerment
- Successfully addressed the incidence of sexual exploitation and the practice of keeping concubines by the landlords through judicial actions, resulting in marked decline in such incidences
- Successfully facilitated in promoting the participation of tribal women leadership in local self-governance
